Placements for Students
Sage Counselling welcomes student counsellors who are seeking a placement in order to fulfil their course requirements. We ask that students have completed the first year of a recognised counselling course.
Counsellors are expected to have a caseload of at least three clients. You will generally be offered clients within your
local area to help minimise fuel costs. SAGE Counselling does not pay travel expenses to student counsellors.
If you are interested in joining our team please apply in writing to the Counselling Coordinator including the name and contact details of two referees, one of whom must be a tutor from your course or a current supervisor.
We welcome applications from qualified counsellors who are seeking to join our team. Please write to the Counselling Coordinator Mary Ashwin with your name, contact information and details of two referees.
What we offer
SAGE Counselling offers a wealth of experience and support to its volunteers.
If you are successful at interview you will have an induction and then be allocated clients as they become available. Fortnightly group supervision is provided and run in accordance with BACP guidelines. There are currently supervision groups in Chichester and Storrington.
Because our clients are considered vulnerable adults, a DBS check is required. SAGE Counselling will pay for this unless you already have a suitable certificate.
We also give regular in-house training sessions at a nominal cost and all SAGE Counselling members are expected to attend. You will be given plenty of notice of training sessions and receive a CPD certificate at the end of each session.
We are seeking people who are able to assist with fundraising, marketing and publicity.
